Nine Spices Hotpot With Family
Memorial Day lunch with the family at Nine Spices Hotpot in Orlando. I've told my mother 10 times that I disliked the concept of hotpot like Shabu Shabu, Sukiyaki, and Thai Suki. Honestly if its not a stew or soup with meat, I'd prefer cooking my meat on a grill, bbq, pan, cast iron and those sorts. Never eating my meat itself after cooking it in a boiling broth water. But today it was with family and really....it doesn't matter where we go as long as this family still continues to take the time to have dinner away from everything else. Also it was my father who dined at this place a couple weeks back and wanted to show this off to us and he was quite a bit too excited to introduce this place cause he was getting a bit rowdy and aggravated when we weren't getting served properly at the beginning. I knew Danny was getting impatient with him and so was I so we both took turns to calm him down as he continued to complain and get angry at the server. But once the flow of service got better everything started to calm down and we as family enjoyed ourselves.
For me it was quite surprising cause I've never had hotpot in this concept, and realized this was the Chinese way of having hotpot and I absolutely enjoyed myself. It was different from the Japanese way, Korean way, or the Thai way, and THIS I prefer quite much. With all you can eat meat and a conveyor belt of all kinds of toppings for 25 dollars is a great price. If I ever had the choice of having hotpot I now know where to go.
Overall Rating: C+(Only the fact that I still prefer grilling my meat)
