Katsucon Problem/Batman Ninja: Secondary Cosplay Project

A few days ago Taylor messaged me that I am to go to Katsucon and that's where we're all(Taylor, Jenni and I) going to make our first debut with our Monster Hunter Cosplay. I don't even remember myself telling him that I was going for sure, but when it comes to my friend Taylor, he always assumes for me. I appreciate that, cause it really shows that I am appreciated and great company as his friend. But unfortunately with my social anxiety and what always happens at Cons when I'm left alone for just a few minutes....the feeling of neglect, loneliness, and a loser. But ill get into detail about that in a later post, but for now to prevent myself from falling into that position I have evaluated the position difference between myself and them, and the demographics and the many scenarios where I'll be left alone.

First....Taylor and Jenni have a different leveled purpose and goal when it comes to cosplaying. They, especially Jenni is striving to become a well known and public cosplay figure, while Taylor as her boyfriend gets well known as a cosplay armor and weapon builder and fabricator. For me....its just the pleasure and enjoyment of JUST cosplaying with friends. Now they already have established some connections, and friends in the con community which WILL be there at Katsucon, and I have to prepare myself for not being part of that when that situation comes to be. So I am going to have to learn to socialize and connect with other people when those times come.

Second....Taylor has informed me that they are already Cos grouped with some of their other friends on Friday at Katsucon as the Akatsuki from Naruto, which I would've loved to have joined since I have always loved to do one of the members(Sasori). But unfortunately one of their friends already wants to do that character leaving me with NOOOO interest in doing any of the other members. Which ultimately leaves me with NOTHING. So I am going to have to go solo, and with them grouped up, they are going to be running around together and noticed by all the con goers. Which means I can't be following them, and I don't want to, cause I'm going to feel like some loser and an idiot. So I'm going to have to plan a good secondary cosplay.

Third, Taylor and Jenni will be going to Blizzcon in November and with that being a very popular, big, and high tier convention, theres no way not to assume that they'll be cosplay planning for something really flashy and grand. And if they do, which I am pretty sure that they will build something awesome for Blizz, will be planning to wear it together at Katsucon. So if they're doing Akatsuki on Friday, Monster Hunter together on Saturday, then that means they'll be sure to wear whatever they make for Blizz on Sunday which then leaves me again with NOTHING. So another day that I have to prepare myself to go solo. Honestly with these many days not cosplay connected with them is kind of discouraging me from going to Katsucon.

But if I'm going to man up and actually go, then I have to bring my A-Game. Which brings me to the main topic of this post. BATMAN NINJA. I swear after I saw the DC animated Batman Ninja movie, I fell in love with Batman's Samurai armored look, and if I can just figure how to obtain a good cowl(since I have no idea how to make masks like that) everything else I can do. It's gonna be alot of work, but since Katsucon is in February of 2019 I got some time. With the huge Rathalos armor project and if I do decide on doing Batman Ninja, my hand will be quite tied up already. If I can complete this cosplay, I'm definitely going to wear it for Friday, which leaves me having to figure out what to do for Sunday. But for now this could be a great cosplay since it is a popular character, but rare to see with a Samurai armor. It will be different, and perfect for Katsucon.
