Holiday Matsuri 2019

Another Holiday Matsuri visitation, and this time didn't allow myself to go back there for the next two days like I did last year. Let me first just start off with this;
I think my mind has finally settled to be ever so done with the cosplay scene. Maybe in the future, but now I think I'm just about done with that scene. Maybe I'm just getting older, MENTALLY older that I now no longer have any patience being around the young kid's party scene. These after parties and gatherings just makes me roll my eyes over and over and over again. Am I badmouthing them? In ways, but not entirely, cause there was a time...a time long ago when I was once young myself and did the kind of the things they did. But now, its hard to do, and hard to watch now. I have become so accustomed to peaceful, and chill type of meetings that tonight was just too chaotic to witness and take in. The place, the hotel was so packed in that I wasn't allowed to park in the public parking, and was redirected to park elsewhere, off hotel property and then either hike my way to the hotel or shuttle it to and from. Just that in itself made me 2 seconds away from bailing. But with some quick thinking and round-a-bout I attempted to park with valet and lo and behold it worked. Took some lying, and pretending as if I knew nothing about this convention, an anti-nerdism attitude, and with some loud yelling and cursing at these "nerds" to the valet *slowly covering my nerd shirt with my cardigan LOL* and that I was here for a business trip and meeting with co-worker friends at a restaurant in the hotel. The valet guy gave me the most humblest of humblest of an apology and allowed me to park with them. Cause in all honesty I did want to see everyone, and I was bearing gifts for all of em, that I took quite some time preparing and contemplating over what to give to each individual. I even came with a bookbag full of beer, cause I knew what I wanted to do. Meet with them and then hang with them at a patio table outside and away from all the chaos and just peacefully chill with my friends. They knew I was coming, and most of em all know how I am about this whole thing.

Despite being so turned off by the scene, it was a must to see my friends. Had dinner with them, and gave each of them their gifts. I had a feeling that there was no return gifts for me, but it didn't matter cause it was what I wanted to GIVE to them. I wanted them to know that they meant something to me, even though they weren't extravagant gifts, but I wanted to show them also that I got them something from what I knew of them, or how well I knew them. And that was that. I got Taylor a Genos figure(ONE PUNCH MAN), and a secondary Cloud sweater gift((Bday gift)FF7) which did not come in on time. Jenni a Full Metal Alchemist medallion because it was that anime that I cosplayed with her when I first met her. After searching and searching on Ebay I got Ben a classic 2005 HOUND Transformer that transformed into a Jeep(since he has a big thing for Jeeps). Savannah(I had quite a few options for her), I got a HunterxHunter Hisako official coffee mug, Caitlyn a Princess Mononoke Amulet necklace(since she once did San from the Anime and I've always wanted a perfect San to cosplay with and it would've been her), Steve because I first met him when he was cosplaying Kakashi(Naruto) and since he does movie productions, directing and writing, I got him a Kakashi novel and then finally Cameron, because he once kept going on and on about cosplaying characters from the "Jackie Chan" cartoons I got him my all time favorite Jackie Chan movie "Gorgeous." I was supposed to have met up with Bow, but wasn't able to meet with her, and I had her gift all ready set, and now have to wait till some other time to give it to her.

Other than that it was fairly a good night with them, other than Taylor taking so damn long dressing out of his cosplay and meeting back up with me. Got alil frustrated with him since I wanted to hang with him more than usual. Cussed him out when he finally got back. lol. Also seeing Trish again was a bonus but unfortunately(I can tell from a mile away) she was pretty drunk and was with Clay. But other than those few things, as well as all the drunkie kiddies it was a good night. Delivered all my gifts out, saw everyone, sweet Cailyn gave me a big hug for the gift I gave her, Ben brought a fantastic Rum that I got to sip on while chilling with them, and Ben &Nicole gifting me a STAN LEE autobiography. Another Holmat quickly here and quickly gone for me. See ya!
